Joseph Gufreda
Systems Administrator
Joseph Gufreda joined IEC March 10 as IEC’s systems administrator. He will oversee IEC’s technical operations, including identifying technology needs, implementing updates and improvements to current software and systems and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently. He will also serve as the IEC staff liaison for the information technology professional section.
Joseph was previously a technical support engineer/manager for IP Consulting, Inc. He has also worked in similar roles for Kinney Group, KSM Consulting, and My IT Indy. Joseph is currently working on a degree at Ivy Tech Community College.
Jake Martin
Regulatory Consultant
Jake Martin joined IEC April 7 as IEC’s new regulatory consultant. Jake will be responsible for supporting the efforts of member cooperatives to comply with federal, state and local regulations. He will do this by helping cooperatives develop and implement compliance policies and programs, providing regulatory training and guidance, maintaining regulatory documentation, facilitating regulatory auditing and submitting required reports to ensure participating cooperatives maintain compliance with established standards.
Jake was previously the supervisor of environmental health and safety at Lee County Electric Cooperative in North Fort Myers, Florida, where he was the lead environmental health and safety training facilitator and developed and implemented policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Before that, he was a safety manager at Haggard and Stocking Associates, a safety advisor at Indiana University Health Safety Management Group, a safety leader at Indianapolis Power and Light, and a safety management intern at Merom Generating Station.
