Indiana electric cooperatives stepped up to provide critical mutual aid both nationally and within the state following the recent severe weather events.
For Hurricane Helene recovery, crews from 12 Indiana cooperatives have been in Georgia assisting Cobb EMC and Jefferson Energy Cooperative, where 100% of Jefferson Energy Cooperative’s 30,000 members were without power, and 20 of its 26 substations were inoperable.

Starting Oct. 7, additional crews from 12 cooperatives continued supporting restoration efforts at Jefferson Energy in Georgia.

Additionally, Warren County REMC CEO Charlie Dunn and Lineman Chandler Rowe went to Mountain Electric Cooperative in Tennessee to assist with mutual aid.
Several Indiana cooperatives received support for in-state mutual aid (Sept. 27-Oct. 1), including Decatur County REMC, Hendricks Power Cooperative, and others.
