At the June 16 Indiana Electric Cooperatives board meeting, Brian Stavish presented IEC two checks on behalf of National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) and National Cooperative Services Corporation (NCSC).
The contribution of $35,750 from CFC is used to offset expenses associated with employee and director educational sessions. IEC hosts a robust schedule of employee training, board development and member education programs each year. These focused programs generate well-trained employees and directors and informed members, which ensures electric cooperatives’ continued success.
The contribution of $3,600 from NCSC is used to offset expenses associated with the annual Indiana Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. This trip provides high school seniors-to-be with the to opportunity gain a better understanding of their government, obtain a personal appreciation of American history and to learn about the electric cooperative business model.
