Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ (IEC) board of directors named John P. Gasstrom as the association’s chief executive officer. He was previously director of compliance at Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC).
“I am honored to be selected as the next CEO of Indiana Electric Cooperatives,” said Gasstrom. “It is a privilege to be joining a leading electric cooperative service organization focused on the needs of its membership.”
Gasstrom has more than 25 years of energy industry experience as a customer-focused leader skilled in strategic planning and project management. He joined GSOC in 2002, where he was responsible for the activities of the compliance department, including bulk electric system reliability and critical infrastructure protection compliance and corporate ethics. He also served GSOC and its members in energy control and metering systems roles.
Gasstrom holds a bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in electrical engineering and an MBA with a focus on technology management from the University of Phoenix.
“We are excited to welcome John to Indiana Electric Cooperatives,” said Gary Gerlach, president of the IEC board of directors. “His leadership and deep understanding of the energy industry will be valuable to our member cooperatives as they meet the challenges facing our industry and work to improve the overall economic health, vitality and quality of life in the communities we serve.”
