NineStar Connect became the first cooperative in the United States to offer four utilities under one umbrella organization: electricity, fiber optic communications, water and sewer services. The Indiana

cooperative recently received its certificate of territorial authority (CTA) from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), which licenses it to provide water and sewer services.
According to NineStar Connect President and CEO Michael R. Burrow, the expansion into wet utilities is in keeping with the utility’s mission to provide the infrastructure needed to empower thoughtful economic development and improve quality of place in rural Indiana.
